American Eagle Outfitters opened their first store in Kanton in 1996.
In July 2016, Kabushiki Gaisha ABS' rapid expansion into Kanton retail saw them acquire American Eagle and sister brand 77 Kids. Some of their stores started carrying 77 Kids clothing in a separate, dedicated part of their store.
